Their Story

Marylou Jackson, Velma Jackson, Ethyl Miller, Leolya Nelson, and Constance White set a challenge in 1928 - cycle 250 mi from Harlem, NY to Washington, DC.

Decades later, we’re riding to answer it.

Our Story

The 1928 Legacy Tour celebrates and amplifies Black women's legacy of athleticism, sisterhood, and adventure on bikes and in the outdoors.

To support the growth of this legacy, we are fundraising through the 1928 Legacy Tour & Virtual Challenge to support MKA's youth bike giveaway, the Chocolate City Community Ride.

**1928 Legacy Tour Goals:**

Amplify a buried legacy.
Celebrate sisterhood and athleticism.
Promote a sense of freedom in the outdoors.
Heal from historical and present-day trauma experienced in outdoor spaces.
